Entry Requirements
Bachelor of Science –BSc
Students’ Admission, Progression and Graduation
These are minimum qualifications for admission into the programme, retention and graduation.
- Admission requirements are as follows:
- Candidates entering with Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) should have credit passes (A-D) in six subjects comprising three core subjects including English and Mathematics, plus three relevant elective subjects.
- Candidates entering with West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) should possess credit passes (A1-C6) in six subjects comprising three core subjects including English and Mathematics, plus three relevant elective subjects.
- Mature candidates will be admitted after graduating from a Diploma in Development Economics in the Department of Theology and Economics, Faculty of Theology, Ghana Christian University College. Candidates must be at least 25 years old and must show proof of age with a birth certificate or any other legitimate documentary proof.
- Foreign qualifications would be referred to the Ghana Tertiary Education Board (GTEC) for determination of equivalence and eligibility for admission into the programme consistent with the National Accreditation Board Act 2007 [Act 744(2(2b)].
- Admitted candidates are expected to progress through an eight-semester four-year programme by earning a pass mark in selected courses for all the semesters and the project work.
- Candidates who have fulfilled all the requirements for the programme will graduate at the end of the programme.
Master of Arts –MA and Master of Science –MSc

- admission requirements are as follows:
- Candidates entering with a BSc in Economics or relevant equivalent programme would need a base performance of Second Class Lower Division.
- Foreign qualifications would be referred to the National Accreditation Board (NAB) for determination of equivalence and eligibility for admission into the programme consistent with the National Accreditation Board Act 2007 [Act 744(2(2b)].
- Master of Arts –MA students shall complete one (1) year course work with semesters sitting exams and a project work at the end of the course
- Master of Science –MSc students are required to complete one (1) year course work and progress to another one (1) year research work. This qualifies a student a PhD study
