Development and Economics

 

The center for Theology and Economics (CETEC) is the academic component of Theology and Nation Building Mission–Africa (TNBM), a contextualization mission for home grown solutions for Africa birthed by Trinity Reforms Ministry. The CETEC is uniquely designed to train persons in theological paradigm economy called Theoconomy to produce Development Economists in theocratic order called theoconomists. These professionals will to lead change for solutions in economics with innovation and ethics for the moral renewal of society in nation building.

 

Theoconomy is an applied theology introduced in a practical theology in contextual mission–new career path in Economics and Industrialization with Ethics and Innovation for Home Grown Solutions for stronger and sustainable fundamentals of economies of developing nations. Theoconomy is thus theology applied to economics (development economics) in the academia and industry by the Gospel to meet the needs of home grown solutions in missions. Theoconomy is a practical theology for professional studies in theology and economics– theological paradigm of Economics.

 

The Center for Theology and Economics –CETEC entered partnership with the Ghana Christian University College–GhanaCU on an MOU to run Certificate courses. The Center was launched on the 21st of October 2023 at the GhanaCU. CETEC as at 20th February 2025 had successfully trained the first batch of students in Professional Certificate in Theoconomy.

 

CETEC has progressed in a Special Purpose Vehicle–SPV for the creation of the Department of Theology and Economics–DETEC to run Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes at the Faculty of Theology and Ministry –FTM. This University College is affiliated to the Akrofi-Christaller Institute of Theology Mission and Culture (ACI), University of Development Studies (UDS) and the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

 

CETEC together with DETEC is for producing Development Economists (theoconomists) to lead change in a modern field of economics with innovation and ethics for moral renewal of society in nation building. The Programmes currently running at the DETEC are:

 

MSc in Development Economics:                –2 Years (1 Year Course Work & 1Year Research)

MA in Development Economics:                  –1 Year (2 Semesters)

BSc in Development Economics:                 –4 Years (2 Semester/Year)

Professional Certificate in Theoconomy:    –1 Year (2 Semesters
